In honour of one of the world’s most ambitious works on the plant kingdom, Södahl joined forces with the Danish Royal Library and is proud to introduce a new design line: Södahl Flora Danica.
The easily-recognisable, fine reddish flower is proud and attractive on the Flora Danica Kløver bed linen.
Flora Danica Forglemmigej features the delicate plant with its characteristic spread, sharp leaves and tiny, rounded blue flowers.
Södahl Flora Danica bed linen comes in exclusive gift boxes.
The design of Flora Danica Purløg reproduces the easily-recognisable thin, hollow and grass-like stalks and violet bloom of chives in an elegant print on jacquard woven fabric.
Wood sorrel has made comeback, and this tiny, delicate little forest floor plant is a regular in the new Nordic Cuisine in many respects. The Flora Danica Skovsyre tea towel features the clover-like leaves and long wispy stems.
Botanical references, vintage and green hues – integrate these three popular decorating trends in your home to achieve the most contemporary style in home interiors.
Flora Danica is the name of the world’s largest botanical atlas featuring more than 3,000 drawings of plants on copper engraved plates – created in the period from 1761 to 1883. It was commissioned by Danish King Frederik V, who wanted to expand the population’s knowledge about nature.
In honour of one of the world’s most ambitious works, Södahl is proud to introduce a range of products with the original Flora Danica motifs.
The Södahl Flora Danica range sees the launch of two sets of bed linen: ‘Kløver’ and ‘Forglemmigej’ plus three tea towels featuring: ‘Purløg’, ’Dill’ and ‘Skovsyre’.
The motifs have been carefully redrafted with the greatest possible respect for the original drawings. The flowers and herbs are exact renditions of the hand-drawn and copper engraved plates, down to the tiniest inaccuracies. Each design features a plate number for the plant in question on a decorative label.
